Going ape for ice cream: fwip’s a hit at German events & parties

Carolin and Patrick Wohlschläger run Germany’s most unique mobile bar – the memorably-named Event-Ape Johnny. Built around a three-wheeled, achingly retro, Piaggio Ape Classic, this small yet perfectly-formed van/retro bar has been doing the rounds to great success since it was built in 2020.

When Portobello met Johnny

Like his premium ice-cream provider, Event-Ape Johnny was built with versatility in mind. And his owners use two main setups: an espresso bar and a dessert selection including, (you guessed it) fwip!
