Major Scoop: fwip at the ACS Innovation Showcase 2020

Proud moment

Oh happy day! fwip was shortlisted for the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) Innovation Showcase. This fantastic industry event was a chance for businesses to get expert opinions from a panel of retailers on their product or service – and practice their cheesy ‘pitchman’ skills.

Proceedings this year were a little different to usual due to the global pandemic. But that didn’t stop us fwipping up an exciting news storm… with an entertaining report from fictional news broadcaster the Convenience News Network!

The fwip report

Newscasters Paul and er… Paul introduced ACS to fwip’s innovative, Covid-proof, industry-beating solutions for premium self-serve ice-cream stations (try saying that with a mouthful of gelato).

This incredible news story explored how fwip dispensers had reached 300 locations in just under 3 months.

An insightful report from ground-zero at fwip headquarters explored the exciting correlation between sales of fwip’s premium desserts (in their 100% recyclable containers) and rising retail income. Mid-pandemic, fwip figured out that with an incredible two-year shelf-life – stock and inventory could be easy to control.    

Cleaning up

The Portobello fwips up gelato, sorbet and frozen yogurt in 7 seconds

And there was more good news for retailers. With cleaning time coming in at under five minutes, customers no longer have to worry about how long it will take, or which member of staff will do it.

Plus with a machine that turns on in two seconds flat, they can now be certain of a fwipping quick service at the touch of a button.

In the world of ‘new normal’, fwip delivers ice-cream van happiness at any time of day at a convenience store near you. No need to subject the neighbourhood to a myriad of masked ‘Mr Whippys’ anytime soon.

Fwipping the books

Finally, fwip shared the numbers. With their largest unit only measuring one metre wide, fwip wowed retailers with the dimensions of their space-saving self-serve stations. These tiny units impressed the panel with their projected income of between £5,000 and £20,000 revenue per year.

That's what we call good news for retailers!
